The vest is the smart-first insulated piece. Sampling, lead time & QC

Sampling

Tech pack or reference → fit sample → fill and quilting sign-off → pre-production (14–21 days). Fill and quilting land in the first sample.

Lead time

Bulk: 5-7 weeks after approval, plus shipping 5-12 days air.

Tech-pack review or build-out. Send a tech pack or just a reference photo we spec the missing lines and confirm them with you before sampling.

Physical sampling. A real-fit sample in your fabric and color, plus a decoration strike-off, before a single bulk unit is cut.

Custom grading. Your size chart, or our house block graded to your reference not a fixed-size set you have to accept.

Branded labeling & packing. Woven or printed neck labels, care labels, hang tags, and polybag/box packing to your spec.

Checking. Every run is inspected against your approved sample before it ships, not spot-checked after the fact.

One point of contact. A solo operator who owns your order end to end, replies within 24 hours, and keeps your designs confidential.

One example block fully custom graded to your reference. The vest drops the sleeve column and grades with layering ease at the armhole; the oversized block runs wider, dropped, and longer. Armhole and layering ease are verified on the fit sample worn over the real mid-layer, not a bare form.

Cold- and gentle- wash; tumble low with dryer balls to re-loft the fill. Care labels are printed to your branding. Copy this onto your product page as-is; accurate aftercare reduces returns and reads as expertise to your customer.

Down for the best warmth-to-weight and packability, the plushest loft at the lowest weight. Synthetic for lower cost, vegan positioning, and warmth when damp. We advise for your price point and market and quote both so the decision is costed rather than guessed.

Yes, same shell, fill, quilting, and hardware family across all three blocks, which reads as a deliberate range and shares your fabric minimums instead of tripling them. Many brands launch a jacket plus a matching vest from a single production.

Lower unit cost and faster sewing for the same visual language: a vest is a puffer with the sleeves removed and one new detail added, the bound armhole. It is the honest entry price into insulated outerwear and a strong layering seller in its own right.

As oversized as your reference we set the exact width, shoulder drop, and length on the fit sample and hold that ratio consistently across every graded size, so the bold silhouette does not collapse at the size extremes.

Not at spec downproof shell fabrics and sealed quilting stitch density are chosen together, and fill leakage is an explicit QC check on every unit. Cheap puffers leak at the stitch lines; that is the corner we do not cut.

Volumetrically, puffers are mostly air, and the oversized block is the most volumetric garment we make. We vacuum-compress cartons for air freight and recommend sea for volume; the fill re-lofts on unpacking. We model landed cost with your quote.
