Layouts that block well

The best color blocks follow a few simple rules. Use them on your sketch, and your first sample will land closer to what you pictured.

  • Seam lines at natural points, like the chest line or the shoulder

How to send a flat sketch: we can pattern exactly

Draw every view

Front, back, and both sleeves. Include the hood if it’s a different color from the body.

Mark the panel lines

Draw where each seam runs. Rough is fine. We turn it into a graded pattern.

Label each color

Write a Pantone reference on each panel, rib, and drawcord. No Pantones yet? Describe the color and we’ll help.
